Glenda H. Ganem

Glenda H. Ganem has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar since 1993 and is also a member of the bars of the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.  Ms. Ganem is also a member of the New Hampshire state and federal bars.  Ms. Ganem graduated college from Brandeis University, cum laude, and received her law degree from the New England School of Law, Dean's List.  Ms. Ganem is the recipient of the Justice Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.  As an attorney, she has litigated numerous cases in the Massachusetts state and federal trial courts involving issues of automobile and homeowner’s insurance coverage, health care regulations, bad faith, fraud, premises liability, and negligence.  She has extensive civil litigation experience ranging from simple motor vehicle actions to complex federal Civil RICO actions.  Ms. Ganem was actively involved in the seminal case of Aetna v. Rodco, et al., 43 F.3d 1546 (1st Cir. 1994) (co- author of the appellate brief).  Ms. Ganem is also a well-recognized expert in the area of Racketeer Influenced and Corruption Organizations actions in the context of insurance and commercial fraud.

Ms. Ganem is chapter co-author of Causes of Action: RICO and Insurance Fraud (Wiley Publications 1995).  She has made favorable case law, routinely cited, in the area of an insured’s obligation to cooperate under the terms of a homeowner’s insurance policy.  Rymsha v. Trust Insurance Company, 51 Mass. App. Ct. 414 (2001); MetLife Auto & Home v. Cunningham, 59 Mass. App. Ct. 583 (2003), which has been interpreted to apply in automobile insurance related matters.  She has also acted as lead counsel for the firm’s clients in recovery actions which have been successfully litigated and/or negotiated to a favorable resolution.  She is also fluent in French and conversational in Spanish.  She frequently provides training on all insurance related issues to the claims and SIU personnel of the firm’s clients and industry wide.  Ms. Ganem has exclusively represented insurance companies throughout her twenty-six (26) year career.
